One to Go...

Well... it's almost done. I have to confess to being pretty frickin' shattered. Per WKO+ I've not quite doubled my chronic training load in 16 days of riding, and will finish the block with 36 hours of riding, which is a lot given the generous number of rest days.

Today's ride was solid enough, averaging a low L2 pace for 3 hours, split up into my bike commute, with an extra loop added in. It was frickin' hot this afternoon though. While waiting at a stoplight in Prince George's County, this elderly black church lady type pulls up next to me, and sits there staring at the sweat flowing off my nose in a steady stream of drips, literally one per second. Then she just shook her head for a long time and drove off. That tells you all you need to know about the combination of temperature and humidity we suffered through this afternoon.

There was nothing else remarkable about the day, except for the fact of how hard it was to get my ass out of bed to go ride. I had to taunt myself with the specter of upcoming races to get my motivation up to ride. I knew it would be hard and my legs would hurt, so getting over the hump and into the saddle was tough. Not as tough as it will be tomorrow with a -33 CTL, but close.

So enough of this boring training crap. I'm off to bed. I'll let you know how it goes.
