If you thought the British press was tough on Tom Boonen, wait 'til you see what the British politicians do to that other Belgian, what's 'is name, who was recently selected to be the president of the European Union.
Now that's how you abuse a politician. Not saying I agree with it, just that I'm in awe of his technique.

It seems that sometimes the Euro press goes a bit too far. But it sure is fun. I'm surprised that there aren't more "postal-style incidents. Maybe they all just realize it's part of the game.

Unbelievable clip. You missed a chance to expound on your theories about the issues in Eurpoean politics and social policy, though.
Hard to believe they ever got the EU put in place at all. And there's no certainty that they're going to get through the current economic issues facing Greece, Spain, Portugal, etc. Faced with belt-tightening to address the pending catastrophe, the people go on freaking strike.
Amazing.
I'm sure the Brits had someone a little less abrasive in place when they finally entered the EU a decade late. And it's typical of the Brits to show such contempt even though every significant military or political victory has been gained on the coat tails of a giant like the US, or by the hard and dirty labour of the very "convicts" they ejected to Oz.
P.S. Nigel does have a point though...
